I protested but I was dismissed because I was told I did not know the rules. Even though I protested, this guy continued to repeat the same action in that match. 
Am I misiterpetating this rule? I would like to know because I play by the rules.

Rack 'em will be hosting a 5-man 8-ball tournament Saturday, April 28 (and Sunday the 29th).  Doors will open at 11:00 and play will start at 12:00.  The tournament is in memory of Debbie Netherton and proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.

Teams may be composed of 5 players (total handicap 23, just like league).  The tournament will be double-elimination, with 50% of the entry getting paid back out to the winning teams.

There will also be lots of prizes available to win through a side raffle (raffle tickets may be purchased at any time, and you do not need to be present to win); all raffle proceeds will go towards the ACS.
